BaltimoreLink in the Home Stretch

After four years of work in planning and implementing Baltimore’s transit system redesign, BaltimoreLink, the complete system change is coming on June 18, 2017. Foursquare ITP has played a key role, from the initial market assessment, to service analysis, many versions of route recommendations, public outreach, operator outreach, new bus stop signage, GTFS development, scheduling, and the list goes on. The formal public education program began on April 3, and our team is busy helping make sure that riders and other residents know about the coming changes to the system, working closely with bus operators and other front-line staff, and finalizing schedules and maps for a smooth transition to the new system.

The District of Columbia DOT recently launched the District Mobility website that provides readily accessible information for District residents, stakeholders, and elected officials on the performance of multimodal transportation in the District. Foursquare ITP developed the data feeds behind the transit performance measures, including bus ridership by route and stop, bus crowding, reliability, and transit coverage through service frequency and walkshed analysis.
