Jarred Toups is a transportation planner and urban designer with a desire to explore the intersection of the two. A fan of trains since childhood, only as a young adult has he truly experienced the mobility and access that well-designed transit can provide. Jarred enjoys using spatial and quantitative data in the network design process and making sure that transit options are as clear to the user as they are to the planner. Jarred also has experience in ensuring that urban design and land use policies are complementary to transit infrastructure and use. He has prior experience with the regulation of rail transit in the United States, particularly pertaining to safety and security concerns, and aims to use this micro perspective to develop better plans at the macro-level.
