Jarred Toups is a transportation planner who has worked with projects involving data analysis and service planning, graphic and urban design, and public outreach campaigns. Jarred has worked in service planning and market analysis, graphic and urban design for transit branding and infrastructure, and outreach strategies including stakeholder engagement, focus groups, and social media campaigns and advertising. Jarred’s key projects at Foursquare ITP include the Philadelphia Transit Plan, the MARC-VRE Through-Running Study, the Detroit Bus Capital Upgrades Project, and the WMATA Bus Transformation Project.
A fan of trains since childhood, only as a young adult has he truly experienced the mobility and access that well-designed transit can provide. Jarred has prior experience in ensuring that urban design and land use policies are complementary to transit infrastructure and use. He also has experience with the regulation of rail transit in the United States, particularly pertaining to safety and security concerns, and aims to use this micro perspective to develop better plans at the macro-level.
