Boston, Massachusetts (October 2023) – Foursquare Integrated Transportation Planning, Inc. (Foursquare ITP) has announced securing official office space in Boston. The office is located at 131 Dartmouth Street and will allow Foursquare ITP staff to better collaborate with each other and its clients. The office is led by longtime Foursquare ITP team member and manager of its data science team, Adam Recchia

“With an office adjacent to Back Bay Station, we are delighted that our staff can utilize the robust transit services provided by our actual clients,” states Recchia, adding, “We are excited to once again have a physical presence in the city of Boston to continue supporting our clients, including those at the MBTA and MassDOT.”

Foursquare ITP, a multimodal transportation planning firm headquartered in Washington, DC, has a rich history in the Boston region and throughout New England, having previously had an office there prior to the pandemic. The firm’s work in New England over the years has included a transportation and TDM plan for the Quonset Business Park in Rhode Island, transit analysis for a naval shipyard in Maine, the Vermont Statewide Transit Plan, and Boston’s long-range bikeshare plan.

For the MBTA, Foursquare ITP has conducted an analysis of walksheds for potential stop consolidation on the MBTA’s Green Line and recently has been supporting the implementation of their Bus Network Redesign. We are also helping the T get a better handle on its bus stop signage by auditing existing signage around the service area.

The firm also has a history with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, including researching the impact of teleworking post-COVID-19, monitoring transit discretionary grant performance, and most recently helping to implement a transition to zero-emissions school buses. Foursquare ITP will also help to improve transit priority over the Gilmore Bridge – an important connector between Charlestown and Cambridge.

Foursquare ITP President & CEO Lora Byala expressed her excitement for the office opening. She also voiced her commitment to continuing to serve the Boston region and beyond with the strong team of professionals located there.

“Having lived in the Boston area early in my career and attending graduate school there, Boston feels like home to me. I’m looking forward to having a place to work with our Boston-based colleagues and reconnecting with our partners and clients to help serve communities in the region,” notes Byala.

Foursquare ITP is a woman-owned corporation founded in 2006 with DBE certifications in 33 states, including Massachusetts. The staff are not only experienced and technically strong, but passionate about what they do. The firm has more than 60 transportation planners, transit service planners, data scientists, GIS experts, communications and visualization specialists, and transportation demand management specialists.
