Baltimore’s transit system redesign, BaltimoreLink, launched on June 18, 2017. Foursquare ITP played an integral role in the project, from the initial market assessment, to service analysis, many versions of route recommendations, public outreach, operator “in-reach”, new bus stop signage, GTFS development, and scheduling. During the Spring 2017 Public Education Period, Foursquare ITP worked closely with MTA to develop many resources to educate riders, other residents, and front line staff such as bus operators about the upcoming changes to the system. Even though the project has launched, we are continuing to work with MTA to evaluate system performance, recommend additional improvements, and continue operator “in-reach” to obtain feedback from front-line staff.
