Foursquare ITP is working with Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG) Commuter Connections to design a dynamic tracking dashboard that will show overall program metrics and can be filtered by jurisdictional users to show outcomes and impacts of their transportation demand management (TDM) programs and strategies. COG required a centralized tool to monitor and communicate the performance of its Commuter Connections program. The dashboard must only expose a subset of data specific to each stakeholder and be live and updated in real time.

Foursquare ITP will design and implement a Power BI dashboard that integrates program data, defines clear stakeholder permissions, and provides tailored views. The team will establish sustainable data processes and transfer the system to COG for long-term use. The dashboard will give COG and its stakeholders reliable, accessible insights into program performance, supporting more efficient management and stronger regional coordination.

Solutions and Outcomes
  • The project will deliver a Power BI dashboard that provides real-time information and metrics about the various TDM programs.
  • The dashboard will provide COG staff with a primary internal view and customized views for up to 25 to 30 external stakeholders.
  • The dashboard will improve transparency and communication by providing stakeholders with tailored access.
