Melanie is passionate about making cities great places to live in. She is an avid world traveler, drawing inspiration from Japan’s train systems to choose her career in transportation planning.
Melanie Marino (she/her) has a diverse background in transportation planning, public engagement, marketing, and cross-cultural communication. Her professional experience spans public sector planning, nonprofit decision-making, and private sector analysis, with a consistent focus on using data and storytelling to improve infrastructure and community outcomes. Before joining Foursquare ITP, Melanie worked at the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), where she contributed to bus priority projects aimed at enhancing multimodal transportation efficiency and accessibility. She has served as the deputy project manager for multiple capital infrastructure projects, supported infrastructure design evaluations, and assisted in community engagement efforts.
