Sandy Brennan (she/her) is a project manager and senior transportation planner with experience in transit operations, transit service planning, bus rapid transit, transit technology, and zero-emissions vehicle planning. She began her transit career working for a suburban transit agency in Maryland before transitioning to consulting. At Foursquare ITP, she played a key leadership role in planning and implementation support for BaltimoreLink, the complete system redesign for the city’s transit. She continues to support the Maryland Transit Administration in short- and mid-range planning efforts, scheduling, performance monitoring, and corridor planning. Sandy also leads Foursquare ITP’s transit operations service area and focuses on how to improve efficiencies, translate planning efforts into implementable plans, and how to create processes and tools to streamline their day-to-day operational duties. Sandy also has assisted many transit agencies in their zero-emissions transition plans including those in Maryland, North Carolina, and Washington, DC. Currently, Sandy is leading national research for APTA and TCRP to understand the factors driving transit workforce shortage and how agencies can increase workforce retention and improve employee well-being. Prior to joining Foursquare ITP, Sandy worked for Central Maryland Regional Transit (CMRT).
