Russell became a planner after one too many near-misses interacting with cars on his bicycle. He still rides his bicycle every day, and dreams of places where people can get where they want to go safely, comfortably, and effectively however they choose to move. Like Foursquare ITP’s clients, he is motivated to connect our good intentions to outcomes.
Russell Pildes is a senior transportation planner at Foursquare ITP with experience in strategic planning, policy analysis, transit service planning, environmental analysis, and program evaluation. He has unique proficiency with transportation emissions analysis and is a leading contributor to Foursquare ITP’s zero-emission bus transition planning practice. Russell began his career with the federal government, first supporting transportation and land use planning on public lands and then later focusing on evaluating the environmental impacts of a broad range of transportation projects and programs. Russell has led projects related to transportation performance management, cost-effectiveness assessments, and regulatory impact and policy analysis for various stakeholders, including the US Federal Highway Administration and numerous state governments. Before joining Foursquare ITP, Russell worked for the US Department of Transportation’s Volpe Center and the Northeast States for Coordinated Air Use Management.
