Centro is implementing bus rapid transit (BRT) service in Syracuse as part of a broader network redesign, and Foursquare ITP is providing design and implementation support for the effort.
Rolling out BRT alongside a systemwide network redesign means Centro needs to coordinate technical planning with a public rollout—making sure riders understand and are prepared for the proposed changes to their routes and stops.
Foursquare ITP is supporting BRT implementation through stakeholder meetings, renderings, a transit signal priority (TSP) analysis, and BRT operating and hub plans, while helping Centro integrate the redesigned network with BRT. To build rider awareness, we led two rounds of public outreach in 2026, meeting riders directly at existing events, major destinations, and the downtown Syracuse hub.
Centro will gain a coordinated approach to BRT rollout that keeps technical planning and rider communication moving together, rather than treating them as separate efforts.
