Foursquare Integrated Transportation Planning, Inc. (Foursquare ITP) is looking for a qualified, motivated, and passionate candidate for a Transportation Planner position with interest and experience in multimodal and public transportation planning in our Boston office. This position is a great opportunity in a fast-growing firm that will provide you with the opportunity to lead and contribute to teams on a diverse array of nationwide transportation projects for state and local governments, transit agencies, regional agencies, and federal agencies.

Role

You will work as part of a team and will be responsible for transit planning work such as data analysis and reporting, use and development of technical tools, innovative research, and meeting participation on a wide variety of transportation projects. You will be involved in projects based on experience and interest, including transit development plans, transportation needs assessments, station area plans, transit route planning, long range planning, and transit performance monitoring.

Required Skills and Experience

For this position, extensive, substantive planning experience that involves complex data and analysis and writing is required, including 2-8 years of progressively responsible roles. A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in transportation planning, urban planning or similar is preferred, though can be substituted with sufficient experience. Likewise, a Master’s degree in the above can be substituted for years of experience

In addition to having the appropriate technical skills, you must be a smart, motivated, self-starter who is passionate about transit and transportation planning and has excellent written and oral communication skills. You must also be flexible in meeting client demands and operating within a dynamic workflow.
