Foursquare Integrated Transportation Planning, Inc.  (Foursquare ITP) is looking for at least one qualified, motivated, and passionate candidate with experience in public transit and multimodal transportation planning for Senior Transportation Planner & Task Lead positions. This position is for our headquarters location in Rockville, Maryland, right at a Metrorail station in a walkable community. You will work as part of a team and will be responsible for leading teams and working with clients to deliver quality work in a collaborative process. You will also be conducting transportation and transit planning work such as data analysis and reporting, strategic planning and performance measurement, use and development of technical tools, innovative research, and meeting participation on a wide variety of transportation projects.

The types of work that you will be involved in include multimodal corridor studies, alternatives analysis, transit network plans, transportation strategic plans, long range planning, and transit performance monitoring. As a Senior Transportation Planner, you will lead tasks within larger projects and serve as a project manager on smaller projects. You will have the opportunity to help teach and mentor more junior transportation planners and develop new specialized skills.

Required Skills and Experience

For this position, extensive, substantive planning experience in the types of projects noted above that involve complex data and analysis and writing is required, including 5-12 years of progressively responsible roles in overseeing projects and tasks. A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in transportation planning, urban planning or similar is preferred, though can be substituted with sufficient experience.

In addition to having the appropriate technical skills, you must be a smart, motivated, self-starter who is passionate about transit and transportation planning and has excellent written and oral communication skills. You must also be flexible in meeting client demands and operating within a dynamic workflow.
